Knowledge from discipline

Spiegels

In mijn leven heb ik nooit één leraar gehad die mij onderwees in het geestelijke en ethische pad, en die dient als een spiegel om mezelf beter te zien. Ik heb altijd heel veel leraren gehad, die ieder mij hielpen me beter te begrijpen, net zoals iemand langs heel veel kleine spiegels loopt, die ieder een ander facet van zichzelf tonen.

Truth and truthfulness

Truth and truthfulness always go together. When the Buddha's first five disciples doubted the Buddha's enlightenment at first, he told them: have I ever claimed enlightenment before in vain? They knew he hadn't. The Buddha's very truthfulness proved that he had now attained the truth and nothing less.
